Well my girlfriend is pretty awesome, I mean what other girl would get you a brand new set of sway bars for Christmas!? :D As it turns out her Dad is pretty awesome too and decided to give me some subs he had in his old car for free!
We finally got another snow storm! Its about time after weeks on end of solid 45 degree weather, we got about 6 inches of snow! Like any natural Subaru owner, I took to the roads and parking lots with a couple buddies of mine and had at it!
I must say, the light fluffy snow is much better then the wet heavy snow :)
A while ago I got to take apart an old 99' Legacy GT. I decided to take the wheels off of it since they had some Continental snow tires. Compared to the ASA's with summer performance tires, the new wheels handle AMAZINGLY in the snow. I didn't get stuck once unlike the ASA's, and all of the drifts and turns were much more controlled. You were able to put power down and get grip when and where you needed it, as opposed to the old ones that would just slip.
Continental Snow tires = The Subaru Project Approved!
Just a little side post here! I found out today that I am officially EMT certified! Time to get out there and start making a difference. God Speed all of our first responders and law enforcement keeping us safe day-to-day.
I finally got the correct Q-Clips to put on my roof rack so I did! The second I got home I tore into the garage, waxed my roof, and went to town. The directions were pretty much straight forward but there was a lot of measuring and making sure that everything is in the right place involved. Slapped on my Q-Towers, threw on some stickers, and what do you know!? I have a completely winter ready car :)
Decided to get all of the salt and crud off of my car and give it a nice detailing :) Anybody who owns a Subaru knows how much of a pain the water-based paint it, it'll scratch if you breathe on it the wrong way. Picked up my bottle of compound and wax and had at it! Spent over 4 hours doing the entire car by hand and got some pretty decent results!
